New Year, New Blog

Is it still only January? Maybe it’s just me but the past three weeks feel like they’ve lasted months. Any “holiday” hangover from the Christmas break is long-gone now. Oh well, one of the joys of being your own boss I suppose.

Way back when I began working for myself, people didn’t “trust” one-man bands. They may not have admitted as such but you could it see it in their eyes.

I’ve never really been a one-man band in the truest sense of the word. True, at the end of the day, I’m only looking to pay one wage each month – mine – but the team of people I have around me, all pitching in when needed, means that I offer so much more than *just* me.

Five years ago, people didn’t get that. It sounded underhand. Sneaky almost. Now with workforce fluidity and that wonderful communications network, the Internet, the idea of collecting teams together to meet a precise need is much more acceptable.

So vive la revolution! Vive the power of the one (and his mates). And welcome to a new chapter.
