Blogging from the iPhone…

Thursday, August 19th, 2010

Just a short test post loyal reader. Thought I ought to try out the WordPress app for my iPhone.

I tend to be very 2009 and use my laptop to write my posts, so thought I’d see how the iPhone fared.

Erm. It’s a mixed bag. Sitting on a bench enjoying the morning sun whilst I write is a pleasant change. But, as a proficient typist who tends to “just write” then edit later, I’m not sure if iPhone blogging is suitable for anything other than short and sweet posts.

Now an iPad, that might be a different story…

Steve Jobs kills Flash in one afternoon

Thursday, April 29th, 2010

Adobe, this is your ass. Apple just handed it to you on a plate.

The following is an ‘open letter’ that Apple boss Steve Jobs has posted onto the company’s web site this afternoon.

Expect Adobe’s share price to drop… and drop…

Apple gives Adobe the finger

Tuesday, April 13th, 2010

Now the fight gets a little more interesting.

In the red corner we have Apple. Champions of industrial design. Noted control freaks. And, frankly, one of the few companies pushing the boundaries in consumer technology at the moment.

In the blue corner we have Adobe. The people who brought you Photoshop, Illustrator and, of course, Flash. Continue reading...

One man band

I hate being ill – and spent most of Monday and Tuesday, coughing and sneezing thanks to the double whammy of viral tonsillitis and a bad head cold. Oh well, these things are sent to try us etc.

But being unable to exist without my regular dose of web goodness, I spent most of the time trawling the web for ‘toys’ I may have not heard about whilst doing boring things like earning a living etc.

This sick madness must end

Tuesday, May 20th, 2008

A new theme for the iPhone that makes it look like it’s running Windows Vista!

I feel like Charlton Heston at the end of Planet of the Apes when he sees the severed head of the Statue of Liberty and not only realises that he’s still on Earth but also that mankind finally carried through all its threats and destroyed itself.

“God damn you all to hell!!”

Why. Would. You. Do. This? No, seriously, why?

Now my Apple-loving credentials are well-established but, honestly, do you need to be a Mac groupie to realise that this is an abomination against all that is good?

What next? Do I have to take a hammer to the hard drive in my MacBook to slow it down and therefore mimic the effect Windows Vista has on computers? Must I disconnect my mouse and keyboard for an hour a day to get that “downtime whilst I virus check my PC” feeling in a show of solidarity for my less-fortunate Windows-using friends?

People, this sick madness must end… now.
