Microsoft Songsmith: Dear God, tell me this is a joke…

January 9th, 2009

Following the dog’s breakfast that was Windows Vista, Microsoft has got to do something pretty special with the upcoming Windows 7. But it looks like they just don’t ‘get it’.

I’ve always said that the difference between Apple and Microsoft was that MS is run by programmers and geeks, whilst Apple is run by people with style and taste.

So when MS looks at their ‘cool friends’ at Apple and sees the Mac-maker gaining market share by – amongst other things – allowing people to quickly and easily convert artistic ideas into pro-quality reality – the geeks set to work. Oh dear God.

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you Songsmith: an idea so awful in its execution that it makes a Bontempi organ set to ‘bossa nova’ sound cutting-edge and vital.

Well what do you expect from the people who saw iMovie and produced Windows Movie Maker to compete.

I’m off to lie down in a dark room to try and forget I even saw this.
