Songsmith does rock classics

As loyal readers will know, I was somewhat perturbed by Microsoft’s new Songsmith software. And it appears my fears were well-founded.

Already there’s a growing group of cheeky chaps and chapettes abusing the software to create their own versions of a number of perennial rock classics. And every single note is car crash awful.

What Apple didn’t launch yesterday

So yesterday was Apple’s first public announcement of 2009: the annual MacWorld Expo keynote. This is the company’s launch for its new mainly consumer-based products (The Worldwide Developers’ Conference in the summer is for the more hard-core user) and saw new versions of iLife and iWork, the planned removal of all DRM on iTunes and, er, not much else really.
