Sack a footballer? Are you mad!

Tuesday, July 29th, 2008

So, yesterday, this guy was released from prison after serving half of a six month sentence for actual bodily harm against one of his work colleagues. And his boss says he has a future with the company.

Radiohead’s laser show

Tuesday, July 15th, 2008

Nobody else would do it would they? Radiohead’s new video for “House of cards” wasn’t actually filmed as such – no cameras or lights were involved.

Nature is sick – and amazing.

Monday, July 14th, 2008

So, there’s these worms – Horsehair or Gordian worms they’re called – and they grow inside crickets. The world’s full of parasites but what these little critters do is even more amazing/disgusting (delete due to opinion after reading the following).

Proof: Aliens are among us!

Monday, July 14th, 2008

No words can explain this; in short aliens are living among us and working for CNN. Time to prepare for the oncoming battle. Me? I’m off to my cabin in the forest to sit it all out.

Star in a reasonably-priced TARDIS

Saturday, July 12th, 2008

From the Dr Who web site: “Inspired by his colleague Simon Catt, Matt Taylor of the BBC’s Repeats & Reversioning team had the idea of combining David Tennant’s appearance in Top Gear’s Star In A Reasonably Priced Car slot with clips of the TARDIS in flight from Doctor Who…”

Boba Flashdance

Friday, July 4th, 2008

How do people think of these things? Who sees a Boba Fett ‘doll’ and thinks “you know what, I think I’ll spend the next few hours re-creating that iconic sequence from Flashdance I enjoyed 20 years ago through the medium of stop-motion animation.”

Obviously there’s not a lot to do in Canada, home of filmer/animator/loony Patrick Boivin.

Hoffspace taking over

Thursday, July 3rd, 2008

From the “you couldn’t make it up” file comes the news that actor, producer, singer, global megastar and 21st century renaissance man David Hasselhoff has started his own social networking site.

Facebook – you might as well shut down now. There’s no point in continuing really.

MySpace? Well, Rupert that $850m you spent might as well have stayed in the bank accruing interest cause, well, the Hoff’s here now.

In the name of science, I signed-up so you don’t have to. It’s got a forum, groups, photos – all the usual social networking stuff and – of course – my own page (and the ability to invite friends to join me).

So now I can contact all the other Hoff fans in the world and share our love of the hairy-chested screen God.

Well, when I brush up on my German anyway.
