Blogging from the iPhone…

Thursday, August 19th, 2010

Just a short test post loyal reader. Thought I ought to try out the WordPress app for my iPhone.

I tend to be very 2009 and use my laptop to write my posts, so thought I’d see how the iPhone fared.

Erm. It’s a mixed bag. Sitting on a bench enjoying the morning sun whilst I write is a pleasant change. But, as a proficient typist who tends to “just write” then edit later, I’m not sure if iPhone blogging is suitable for anything other than short and sweet posts.

Now an iPad, that might be a different story…

Sudden downtime…

These things can’t be helped sometimes…
Downtime
A client of mine has decided to delay implementation of a project at the 11th hour, which means I’ve suddenly got some free time on my hands.

So… does anybody out there have an immediate need for a strategist, writer, social media/PR, usability and/or all round good digital marketing egg for a project?

If you know of anything/anybody requiring a person of my assorted talents, please drop me a line. Thanks.

The future of publishing

Tuesday, May 20th, 2008

There’s been a lot in the techie press lately about the death of “traditional media”, especially newspapers and magazines. Driving into the Leeds office this morning, I was listening to my favourite podcast This Week in Tech (TWiT as it’s known), when they began discussing the death of newspapers. A topic that, as a former journalist and self-styled “digital media guru”, I have some opinions on.

Less and more often

Saturday, May 17th, 2008

I’m a recent new-comer to the world of blogs. Not reading them you understand – been doing that for years – but writing one.

As a former journalist, my instinct is to take time over each word I commit; structure my argument and put it across in, I hope, a manner that possible educates and, hopefully, entertains.

But, boy, does that take time. Time when I could/should be doing the current day job.

So my early summer resolution is to write shorter blog posts, more often.

Hope you enjoy them!

D Day Part 1

Well the big pitch has been and gone, and we’re now in the agonising period known as “waiting to hear”.
